Wherever The Mood Takes Me
Following on from the "Leg Pain" thread I thought I'd put my ailment on here for discussion as well.

For the past few weeks I've been having pins & needles in my left arm almost constantly. When I turn my head to the left I often get a shooting pain down my left arm.

Has anyone experienced anything similar. I know Heart Attacks have similar symptoms but seeing as this has been happening for a few weeks and I'm still standing I think I can rule out Heart attack.

Any ideas?

The pain related to the head movement probably rules out cardiac involvement. Sounds musculo-skeletal or nerve related.

Best to visit your GP if it's been going on for weeks and you've been taking pain killers and anti-inflammatories.

Go & see an Osteopath, they'll crunch you all back into place.

Sounds like a trapped nerve in the neck to me. Pop along to a physiotherapist, and see what they say.

Might well do that but I actually haven't taken anything for it at all yet. Do you think anti-inflammatories could help then?

I would suggest you go to a medical professional and not seek medical advice off the drongos on here. They're alright for sympathy but erm not otherwise.

For instance, pins and needles, burning sensations in your arms etc is most likely concerned with anxiety and stress related, or you've been sleeping on it wrong, or you have mono or it could be related to Peripheral Neuropathy which could be caused by HIV or cancer.

Thats interesting as I've been back to work for 3 weeks after having the previous 4 months off with stress & anxiety.

Rubbish, of course we know what we're talking about. Chez, just make sure you swallow plenty of leeches washed down with Toilet Duck. And avoid jam doughnuts. You'll be as right as ninepence in no time!
