If Barnes scores the winner against Reading and secures us the playoffs he'll be popular with all of our fans - more than he ever was when he played here.

He will hit it mid height to the keepers right, which I'm sure the Reading keeper will be aware.

The more important question is that if Reading and the Albion are drawing and we get a last minute penalty does Oscar send on Lopez to secure the win to spend us into the play-offs or leave it to someone on the pitch to miss.

It's not bad, and certainly better than 'unconvincing'.

World cup penalty shoot outs have a 71% success rate dropping to 64% for the sudden death penalties (http://www.penaltyshootouts.co.uk/research.html)

Also:

For instance, of the 78 penalty kicks taken during the 2005–06 English Premier League season, 57 resulted in a goal, meaning almost 30% of the penalties were unsuccessful.

A German professor who has been studying penalty statistics in the German Bundesliga for 16 years found that 76% of all the penalties during those 16 years went in

For the premier league: http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Premier_League_Penalty_Statistics.html

For last four seasons (Barnes' 75% is from the last four seasons), 78% of penalties in the premier league were scored.

In the championship this season 72% of penalties have been scored, so far. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/championship/elfmeter-detail/wettbewerb_GB2.html
