Lua Lua is a luxury we can't afford to have at this level until he learns how to track back. CMS needs someone to work off and Barnes isn't strong enough imo.

Another vote here for Da Man Clay's XI

Would love to see this Line up!!

Problem is it's to fast and outright attacking for Gus! Nobody to slow the game down and pass patiently going nowhere inside our own half

I know most people dont want CMS on his own but I think we should go with 4-5-1 formation that switches to 4-3-3 when in possession.
My line up would be
Ankegren
Painter Greer Dunk/El Abd Calderon
Bridcutt Sparrow
Noone Vicente Buckley
CMS

You could be Manager of Scotland. Why is everybody so keen on Greer?

chose navarro over bridcutt because bridcutt plays a similiar role to vicente and vicente is obviously better at this

Err...what? Is that holding midfielder Liam Bridcutt and winger/free role attacker Vicente you're saying play the same role? Bizarre.

---------Casper---------
Calde Gordon Dunk JT
----Bridcutt Vincelot----
Buckley Vicente Noone
----------CMS----------

Subs: Brez,El-Abd,Dicker,Barnes,Hoskins.

So, so unsure about our central midfield. We have the most numbers there but there are still so many question marks. For me Sparrow hadn't done enough to warrant the 16 so far - I had really high hopes as I do rate him but he's been anonymous every game he's played so far. And if Painter is slow, Navarro is practically stationary, the man's got the turning circle of a ferry. Good in the tackle but would put Bridders & Vincelot in front of him for the DM spot atm. Dicker on a good day is untouchable, so much class. But on a bad day he's incredibly frustrating, giving the ball away. Seems like a flip of a coin. Harley is a luxury from set pieces but a liability defensively, his workrate is appauling. Only Bridcutt & Vicente are certain picks atm.

Maybe a 442 diamond with Noone/Buckley as 2 outright wingers, and ask Calde/Painter not to roam forward as often to keep our defensive shape? Would allow us to play 2 up top (and open up the inevitable Barnes v Hoskins debate).

Much of what you say, whilst amusing, is also spot on.

Perhaps things would be much better if our full backs didn't stray up the pitch quite as much as they do hence leaving unfillable holes.

Having said that, I don't think Paints (amongst others) is at all good enough.
