John Byrne says getting rid of Wilkins was "one of the worst decision this club has ever made", how obvious that was to most football fans, momentum is everything in football.
What a f*ck up, it has proved to be and costly too.

And won the Champions League, got to another final, a semi-final, led Liverpool to their best ever Premiership campaign and bought in the best striker in the world.
I agree with your points other than that though
Although i'd argue that Liverpool don't even have a strong first 11 these days
Carragher, Insua, Ngog, Babel, Riera are all pretty shocking.
and as for that Lucas... Words fail me.
Benitez's record is a REAL pain in the arse when slagging him off.He has consistently earnt a reprieve through getting the results right when it really counts, to be fair to him. This is a man who won La Liga with Valencia when he was 40, he's not a complete clown (As some would have you believe). But the squad he has built is just disgraceful for a club like Liverpool.
Fair to say he's losing the plot a bit though i reckon!
Selling Alonso and buying a player who's just had ankle surgery, bringing on Voronin under any circumstances and buying awful players such as:
Lucas
Dossena
Nunez
Pellegrino
Voronin
Arbeloa
Carson
Fowler
Riera
To name but a few. I'll think of more later.
