I admit it took a bit longer than you would expect to get medical attention. The ref spoke to the player before seeing if Cech was ok, then a delay in getting medics on the pitch, but then you don't expect that sort of injury.

Plus if players stopped rolling around in absolute f***ing agony every time a sharp gust of wind happens, then getting up and running around when they don't get a free-kick, perhaps referees will start to react a bit quicker when a player really is injured.

How many times when you see a player go down do you really think he might be seriously injured? Especially in this case where the initial incident and contact looked pretty innocuous?

It's libel, isn't it? It's been reported and written down. So they could sue him and the papers that carried his story. Unfortunately, money buys you the very best justice and Chelsea know that.

I can't work out whether this is yet more tedious cultivation of a siege "everyone hates us" mentality or Chelsea's players and management really are so far removed from reality that they believe they've been hard done by by everyone, er, including ambulance drivers. WTF?

I think it's a bit of both, MoH. There is that 'everyone hates us' mentality at Chelsea, definitely, there is at most 'successful' clubs I would think. And they are miles away from reality.

On R4 news this morning, they had the guy in charge of the paramedics totally backing the events described by Reading, and saying that he couldn't understand the events that that c**t Mourinho from Chelsea was describing.
