Best performance I saw was in WH Smiths on Brighton station in 1989 trying to get a dimwitted sales assistant to sell him a packet of Gauloises fags. I can still hear the booming "No, the ones without the filters" said in the best Peter O'Toole voice with more than an air of frustration towards the inept guy behind the till flustered by a request which took him out of the B&H-JPS-Rothman comfort zone.
