I have seen a Rolls Royce Phantom around Peacehaven (car is probably worth more than their house ;) ) the number plate used to have no space so it looked like Phantom (from a distance) I had never seen the plate close up until this week and saw it’s actually PH05 TOM with the correct spacing.
I’m hoping the owner isn’t called Tom :lolol:

Up to the individual isn’t it.

Had one once. Vehicle was stolen and the insurance company retained the plate after paying out claim. Would never do it again.

Not where I want
In that pragmatic Australian way they have a much more flexible approach to personalising plates and a lot of the time it is done for business or sport club loyalty reasons rather than any snobbery* etc. See https://vplates.com.au/

When I was in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago this one caught my eye (might turn my avatar into this if we win tomorrow to celebrate).

(*Full disclosure with my first electric car as a 2015 early adopter I had a custom plate that emphasised the all-electric nature of said vehicle but long gone now)

I'm currently - temporarily - driving around in a car with a personalised number plate with the initials BJC which hadn't been used for a while and had moss on it.

My work colleagues know it as the "Blow job central Anthrax mobile"

Happy Days.

I don’t hate them. I just judge their owners harshly.

I'm sure I've told the story but a good few years ago, in a midlife crisis, I bought a classic sports car and my son came home and asked what I was doing on my computer. I told him I was buying a personalised plate to fit the type of car.

He then asked me how much I was going to spend, told me it was a complete waste of money and stood over me whilst I did the right thing.

Still have the car on the original plate, Save the Children are a few hundred up, and he has put me right a few times since

I find that mean spirited and selfish from your son

My kids bought me one for fathers day. It reads MY DAD. It is not on a car at the moment as I don't have one. But I love it and would never sell it even though it is possibly worth a lot of money now. It cost very little at the time back in 1999. I'm hoping to pass it down when one of the kids has kids.

A number plate without any numbers, is that what is on the plate?

This type of plate is shite but always makes me laugh when it has to be explained at the bottom :lolol:

Don't have a problem with people getting them, except the people that have B0SS or some other bullshit like that (the one above is shite but obviously owned by a total simpleton).

Wouldn't ever be arsed getting one myself though. If I had millions, I still wouldn't be able to justify even spending £150 on one of the shitty ones, let alone thousands on something that looks like it says something.
