And I mean instantly, without second thought.

I literally cannot mention - or even think of - friends named Nigel without the XTC song coming up on my internal jukebox (and, usually, singing it). It's a bizarre trigger.

It's a similar story with an old work colleague Jolene, who is well used to folk bursting into song in front of her.

But it's not the case with every name/song combo - I don't think of Elvis Costello when I'm with women named Alison, for example.

Anyone else make instant name/song connections?

Yes, can totally relate to the XTC one when there's a Nigel around.

Similarly when meeting any John I wish to enquire whether he has a new motor and whether he keeps tropical fish in his underpants! :)

I very briefly had a thing with a girl called Lola.
She was not a showgirl, but my brain wouldn't let it go.

Oh - 100% this one.

There used to be a stunning girl called Elouise, who worked on the customer service desk of our local Waitrose ( DavidinSouthampton probably knows her!). This was immediately stuck in my head every time I went in there.

I know exactly who you mean……. Even though I no longer work there.
