So you do agree then, yes? The football is great, but as a whole the game is rubbish.

I suppose so. But as I say, when I watch football, I'm not thinking about anything except 22 men kicking a ball around really. Am able to detach myself and enjoy the experience.

I have a feeling that you have been following football longer than me and therefore feel more closely & emotionally involved with the game, and thus it is understandably harder for you to detach from it.
