yes another one of these threads.

Problem uno: i think my hard drive must be fecked, cos when i click on anything to do with windows it either crashes or doesnt load.
Recycle bin crashes, "my computer" doesnt load, documents doesnt load either, then it all crashes

Is the c drive or just windows?

could be both. you nee a decent system clean up. use norton or system accessories (i think) on your start menu. defrag disks etc and do all routine checks that you can. if that fails, virus alert!

try and boot into safe mode.

if it's a fairly old machine could be the fan not cooling down the CPU. Thus it overheats and things start crashing.

Cheap to replace if it is.

Magoo its 4 years old now, so getting on a bit, it could be any number of things, and it could indded be a virus after because theres this annoying porn pop up thats downloaded it stuff on my machine and keeps asking me "which modem i want"
Ive tried deleting it but cant get on the the stuff that deltes it!

If you get it back up and running, try getting hold of two bits of freeware - Adaware and Spybot S&D - and run them regularly. They are great at getting rid of trash like this.

I think you hard drive may well be corrupt.

My son's one was a required a rebuilt by an expert.
