One of those where you can only conclude he is biased or was paid off.
Very much how I saw it.My own view (having not seen any replays)
- 1st one looked tight as to whether in or out the box.
- 2nd one - never a pen on 1st viewing as it lookma clear dive. Can't have claimed to have seen it either
- 3rd one, I didn't think it was a foul for the free kick. Haven't seen if it was a handball i.e. outside of natural body shape/moved to ball
Our pen appeal. I was sure it would be subject to a proper review (paused game, image on screen etc)..very surprised that didn't happen
Burn - can't believe it wasn't given as a free kick. I was sure it would have been a card too
Wieffer - surprised at 1st booking given Burn hadn't even been given as a foul. Second incident, I wasn't sure it was a foul in 1st place..suspect the red card check probably said that hence why no second yellow given but can't overturn the the decision of a foul.
Bruno - at least 2 bookings not given.
Tonali - man does he fall over easily.
Welbeck - must be bad for him to lose his temper. He was clearly pulled back.
So in summary a weak and inconsistent refereeing performance. I reserve the opportunity to change my mind once I've seen the incidents on screen
I’m enjoying the conspiracy thoughFair enough, but what does "...associated with Newcastle FC" mean, and does he officiate a higher proportion of their matches as opposed to other PL teams?
Okay, he's just a shite ref.I’m enjoying the conspiracy though
These are his results officiating Newcastle matches - someone with a good eye for stats can make of that what they will - nothing really jumps out to my untrained eye

Newcastle fans somehow incredibly think they were cheated out of a win by Pawson favouring us. These tweets are far from unique. At least when the referee robbed us at Spurs previously their fans had the self-awareness and recognised it.
Spoke to a couple of Geordie lads after the match and they thought he was an absolute joke.Thank God for VAR, is all I can say.
He was so bad that we thought he was terrible and Newcastle fans thought he was terrible.
I said exactly the same but I was told I was talking rubbish. Had Bart not saved it, he wouldn't have given the pen so they had been given the advantage. In any case it wasn't a foul so the whole thing should be academic. On the penalty - given that play continued and they would have scored if it had not been for a superb save from Bart, hadn't they played their 'advantage'?

Actually, having now watched the highlights, Pawson blew up before the guy got his header in on goal.I said exactly the same but I was told I was talking rubbish. I love the fact that a top 4 team owned by Saudis think the game is rigged towards Brighton.
There's a certain post truth populism madness to it I suppose.
Newcastle thought he was terrible for not sticking with his original decisions for the 2 pens overturned!Thank God for VAR, is all I can say.
