I tend to defend referees as it's undoubtedly a hard job, but he was dreadful. For the dive penalty he was clearly unsighted as I was directly behind him. The fact that he gave it anyway was disgraceful.

Got every big decision completely wrong. All 3 penalties (or non penalties) and Wieffer 2nd yellow. I’d actually be embarrassed if I were him to be so bad at your job

It started so early with the non foul and booking when burn flattened minteh.
Weifer I did not think was a foul but if it was a foul then it has to be a yellow. Bruno not getting booked was incredible. Three bad challenges and not a single one a yellow.
We should also have had a pen. That was a clear foul. He stood across the defender to shield the ball and was kicked over. I assume VAR couldn’t send to screen again.

The Gordon pen was as tight as it can be, only a replay is confirming that, it looked a pen all day long.
The Willock one is blatant cheating, blame the players not the ref.

What about the O'Riley potential pen, he gave nothing but didn't card him? He certainly didn't just fall over his own feet.

Another extraordinary performance. Gave us an incredibly small number of decisions, guessed for an early corner for them, guessed for their first two pens - both of course wrong and naturally didn't give us an equally dubious pen and was inconsistent in his yellow cards. Appalling.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fabian has marched into his office ripped off his mask and proclaimed, "So it was Mr Attwell all the time and he'd have got away with it if it wasn't for you pesky VAR kids".

To be fair on the Gordon one, that did look a penalty and what VAR is there for. The second penalty was disgraceful from both player and ref - he couldn't see it and still gave it. A weird one too, as he had VAR to give the pen if it was one so he didn't need to guess.
