Paul weller has cancelled his upcoming tour due to illness:

PAUL WELLER has been hospitalised due to a "severe throat infection" - forcing the cancellation of his UK and Irish tour.

Weller’s dates at the Keighley Victoria Hall on November 5, and the Glasgow Armadillio on November 6 and 7 were originally postponed for a month. However, it has now been announced that the whole tour will be scrapped.

A statement issued to NME.COM reads: "Paul Weller has had to cancel his forthcoming British and Irish tour due to a serious throat infection.

"Originally it was thought that only the first few shows in November would be affected but after seeing a specialist Paul was admitted to hospital suffering from chronic tonsillitis and quinsy (Peritonsillar abscess). He is expected to be in hospital for a few days.

"Paul would like to apologise to his fans, but due to his condition the decision had to be made to cancel the shows. A statement on ticketing and dates will be made shortly."

Weller’s new single ‘Thinking Of You’ is released on November 15, with 50p from each copy sold donated to this year’s Children In Need.

ok, £5 each ? (assuming they'll be valid for any rescheduled dates !)

I bought some tickets to see Ian Dury a few years ago, he died before the gig so I've still got them !

I've still got my ticket for Nirvana at the brixton academy for after he killed himself. I figured I'd keep them as they will probably be worth sometihng in years to come rather than getting the refund.

Tickets will be valid for re-scheduled concert - so don't rip them up out of anger!

from memory I think the Ian Dury tickets where either refunded or if yu kept them, the money was given to charity (less booking fees no doubt!)
