The 27-year-old striker only joined The Lilywhites on a free transfer last summer after being snapped up from Scunthorpe United.

The Dagenham-born marksman has made 10 Championship appearances for Preston, but has only scored once - a match-winner against Portsmouth.

Gus Poyet's League One leaders are now set to test Preston's resolve by attempting to entice him to drop one level in the English ladder.
