Watched Paul Dickov playing for Blackburn on Sky the other evening.

Suddenly remembered he had played on loan with the Seagulls.

Anyone remember what year that was, how long he was with us, how many goals he scored and who he was on loan from?

(this is not a quiz question ... I don't know the answers!)

scored a late winner against Plymouth in front of the North Stand I think.

He may have got the equaliser too.

Kurt Nogan scored a hat trick vs Cambridge on New Years Day 1994.

Dickov got a late equaliser vs Plymouth (top of the table if I recall correctly). Nogan got the even later winner.

Dickov scored 2 vs Fulham in April of 1994 and got 5 overall.

I always rated Dickov - he worked his bollocks off for us when he was on loan, probably one of the most whole-hearted forwards I've ever seen. Shame we couldn't have somehow made that into a permanent deal.

he still loves us.

I spoke to him in a motorway cafe when we played at Burnley I think it was.

He always enjoyed his time here and wished us well.

That is the case, my father delivers cars to the Blackburn training ground on a regular basis and he has spoken to Dickov and the other players quite a bit. Dickov loved his time at the Goldstone and he remembers it with fondness.

Apparently Mark Hughes, Dickov and Craig SHort (when he was there) were the nicest blokes to speak to. Unsurprisingly Tugay was the biggest asshole
