If I were pressed to lay a wager (and I say this strictly in the spirit of intellectual speculation) — I should wager my hat that the blighter was to be found at Selhurst Park, ensconced on another fellow's ticket having inveigled his way into their trust, making rather a bally nuisance of himself. One imagines him observing Mr Welbeck's goal and giving it the full vocal symphony to the home supporters complete with unrestrained gesturing with hands in a manner most unbecoming of a gentleman of good breeding. All jolly good fun of course, until some eagle-eyed steward with a nose for tomfoolery cottons on, and the whole caper goes pear-shaped—resulting in our hero, and the poor old bean whose ticket it originally was, being hauled up before the powers that be in a most unseemly fashion.
A most bothersome situation and just the sort of pickle that has ‘awkward conversation with the club solicitor’ written all over it.
