Austrian comments about the story:

"And at least it's better than Wolfsburg, nothing's going on there in terms of sport."

"(in English) Wimmer and Brighton.... perfect match I say.... it's make or break for anybody whose new to the Premier League, not just for Wimmer... but he will be just fine in England."

"Brighton is a lovely seaside resort. I went there for an English course when I was at school. Want to go there? Why not? Wolfsburg isn't that great either. But with his hobbies, driving Porsches and buying tractors, it's going to be difficult on the island, though."

"Feels like 92% fact, 8% possibility! Great!!!"

"29 games,...three goals & four assists. Woooooow... Lots of room for improvement for an attacking player..."

"Under Hasenhüttel, Wimmer often played at number 8 because he could accelerate Wolfsburg's game with his quick anticipation and basic speed. He had a number of assist-assists for this, i.e. the pass before the assist. His greatest asset is his versatility."

"Looking back, you can now see what that achieved..."

"Someone only looks at statistics and not at WHERE he plays ;)"

"Numbers don’t lie."

If we are signing early, would they still be in the Caicedo money timeframe of PSR?
The Caicedo transfer income was in the 23-24 accounts and contributed towards us making an 80m profit that season. It’ll still make a difference as PSR is calculated over a rolling 3 season period, but the cost of a transfer fee is accounted for proportionally over the course of the players contract - known as the amortisation charge.

It therefore makes a negligible difference to the buying club by signing early. It can make a difference to the selling club however if they’re struggling to meet PSR for that 3-year period as they can get the full profit into their accounts into the existing season if completed before the financial year end.

For the English, Wimmer would be the second Austrian after Markus Suttner. The former left-back made 18 competitive appearances for the club, which is based in the south of the island.

I had forgotten about Suttner being Austrian.
I'd forgotten about Suttner full stop!
