Part 'P' Domestic Electrics Advice needed..

Are there any electricians who can give me some advice?

I'm working towards fitting kitchens and bathrooms. I was looking a couple of years ago into completing the Part P course.

Q) Is this still relevant after 17th Edition?

Q) If it is relevant is there anywhere in Sussex it can be completed?

When I was looking into this previously I had earmarked the Builders' Training Centre in Waddon where I took a Kitchen Fitting course. I believe there's a place in Crawley. Any ideas would be welcome.

i am an assessor for the n.i.c on the domestic installer scheme. yes that course is still relevant & crawley college has best reputation for the 17th course. hope this helps

eurotraing based in patching ( rent classroom in northbroke college broadwater) do a part p course aimed towards people in the plumbing trade

I actually done my Part P at BTC in Whaddon last year..!
Done the plastering course there too, years ago.

The Sparks lecturer is very good, and has a high pass rate, with mainly 'old School' (i know it all..) sparks failing, not the 'new' students.

As a Bathroom Installer, being able do my own elecs is now essential (bathrooms being special locations an all that..)

Good Luck (and keep an eye out for an MFT on ebay, as new they are astronomically expensive..)

yes crawley does all elec courses including 2391 etc.part p course normally 3 days or 12 eves.

I want to offer a one man solution to fitting kitchens and bathrooms. For customers it saves them having to deal with loads of tradesmen. BTW what is an MFT? Hope I'm not showing my ignorance.

A Multi-Function Tester - will do all the tests req'd for any work under Part P

I've got one of these -

Thanks to all for advice on this thread, I'm looking at Trade Skills 4 U in Crawley at the moment but will check out Crawley College. I know Waddon, so may still end up going there if £ is right. I'm well aware though that reputation is more important than the £.......

Pretty sure Whaddon will give you a discount if you've been there before.
