Or you could leave the car at home and catch a bus to Rottingdean and then use the shuttle bus service (every 10-15 minutes)

This is brilliant. It takes me back to the days when there were buses from all over town to the Goldstone.
'Your match ticket gives you free travel on these buses'. Is this right?

I've got a feeling this should actually say "Your matchday travel ticket gives you free travel on these buses" ie if you buy the £25 bundle of travel tickets these will cover P&R and the special buses. There is no travel voucher element to a match ticket next season unless the club have an arrangement with B&H Buses as part of the local transport plan to partly subsidise bus travel to and from the stadium. B&H Buses want to introduce a cashless payment system so this may develop into a symbiotic relationship with the club as the season ticket smartcard will be compatible with the readers on the buses.

Yes the bus is looking more likely to be my number one mode of transport to The Amex.

I did a trial run today on my bike from Lewes. The idea was to park in Lewes and then take the cycle path to Falmer. Well I have done it now and I think this idea is going to be put on the shelf lol.

The problem with cycling from Lewes to Falmer and back is that its ok with decent weather but might be a bit treacherous between November and March.

The bus services would be very useful for me but I have a feeling that they may be full by the time they get to fiveways/withdean - I expect a bit of chaos first match, there will be a lot of people using the park and rides, some may be full.

As far as I know, it's your £1 Travel Voucher that gives you a free return trip on these buses.

This will be the quickest way to use Park & Ride if your coming from Peacehaven, Newhaven.
Along A259 then up Wilson Avenue.

You mean, driving straight past the B2123 (the road that becomes Falmer Road) that leads to the Amex? I'd imagine it would be quicker to drive up into woodingdean, park there and walk to the amex, rather than take a 3-4mile detour.

Disagree actually. The first match will be fine as a lot of people will be getting there very early, a lot will be walking and the weather may be good. The full horror will come in September.

Rottingdean - Woodingdean about 2 miles; Woodingdean - Falmer about 2 miles on foot = About 45 minutes in total;

Rottingdean - Racecourse about 3.5 miles; Racecourse - Falmer about 10 minutes on the P&R bus = About 20 minutes in total.

Where can you (and several thousand others) park in Woodingdean? And watch out for traffic on the Woodingdean - Falmer road. There's no footway.
