A CALIFORNIA judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail today for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Hilton must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release or use of electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

Hilton will spend the 45 days at a women's jail in suburban Lynwood.

"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose all," she told the judge before announced the sentence.

Hilton was arrested on September 7 for reckless driving. In January she pleaded no contest to the charges. She was sentenced to 36 months' probation, alcohol education and $US1500 ($1822) in fines.

On January 15 Hilton was again pulled over by police. Officers informed her she was driving on a suspended licence and according to court papers, she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive.

On February 27 Hilton was again pulled over by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies for speeding and driving without headlights. She was then charged with violating her probation

If a 'normal person/Joe public' had committed the same crime; the jail sentence would start with immediate effect.
Why the 5th June? I suppose the social calender is light for that forty five day period, which will be shortened to 15 days with good behaviour less three days for court case she should manage about a week in the luxury wing

It's going to be the same as Michelle Rodriguez - who went to the same jail with a 90-day sentence. She got out in 2 hours as the prison couldnt accomodate a "celebrity" - as they have to put them away from other prisoners!!!
