But Reading could well want Coppell if they lose Pardew. And I reckon he'd be odds on to go as well.

Without permission to speak to him, he'll have to resign of his own accord to join them if they're not to make an illegal approach.

This is not neccesarily good news. It may mean they ask for permission to speak to other candidates instead....

They say they will, supernova. But if he makes it clear he's interested, there's no way they won't let West Ham speak to him. I bet our board's resilience is lower than Reading's, and the reasons to stay for an ambitious manager, until we get Falmer, are weaker than those to stay at Reading.

Sorry, just being pessimistic. We've seen too many managers do well with us, raise their stock in the managerial market and then bugger off lately.

I'm not too sure. Coppell's record is mid table in the First division. That's where we would have ended up without the first two months results last season.

I think Kevin Dillon, Pardew's assistant, would have a good chance of the Reading job if Pardew didn't take him with him.

Did Coppell not get Palace promoted, hence they love him so much? So he has some track record I think.

Phil Parkinson for the Reading job.
