No. Only Premiership -> Championship.

Even though the financial drop is large...:nono:

Protect the 'Big Clubs' FA, well done! :clap: :thud:

I had a feeling that would be the case. The FA really are xxxxx. Why should a team get extra money because they were not good enough to stay in the Prem.

The parachute payments are only really for the drop in TV revenue from the Premier League to the football league. While you won't get as much in league one than you do in the championship its not the same kind of drop.

Also nothing to do with the FA really. This is a football league competition.

Is it not the FA Premier League and The FA working in cohorts?

Simple solution would be to distribute the money fairly between all the leagues.

Which would effectively mean getting rid of the Premiership and going back to the old system. Can't see some people agreeing with that.

Or did you just mean within the football league?

I meant the football league mainly. When Nottingham Forest went down, they got something like £250k from their TV appearances, whereas we got something along the lines of £90k, only helped by the last day survival appearance.

You could argue that the Premiership have a duty of care, as the football league exists and feeds them clubs, to distribute some more money. I am sure a lot of attendances are affected by people staying away, due to Arsenal Liverpool game on a saturday lunchtime.

I thought that there was a "gentleman's agreement" in place that the 3 teams promoted to the Premiership allocated some funds (think it was 100k at the time) to the 3 relegated clubs.

I'm sure this was in place when we went down last time, not sure if it's still the case.

Long Sault, actually....
From the Premier League website

"50% of total money goes on an equal share basis to the 20 FA Premier League clubs, while relegated clubs also receive some of this money in the form of a parachute payment. 25% of the money is paid as facility fees, which are determined by the number of appearances on television. 25% is paid in merit payments, determined by the position that a club finished in the league."
