Palace have a good starting XI if they are all fit but their squad is much weaker than ours when injuries come calling. I think it was very fortunate for them that they had Ipswich without Mateta and now 21 days rest before their cup game. As already mentioned they have a very difficult run in compared to ours so I think we will finish comfortably above them in the league. As for the Cup - would you prefer Forest at home or Fulham away ?

Those odds look very generous. Yes City have only lost 3 games at home, but we've only lost 4 away. Plus our current form is rock solid, and City's is very much unpredictable.

I have a feeling Mitoma will tear Rico Lewis to pieces and be backing an away win at 4/1.
City will at no point leave Rico Lewis to handle Mitoma on his own. They'll do exactly what Fulham did IMO.

Actually I wouldn't be amazed to see Fab play Adingra instead, with a view to Mitoma coming on later if it doesn't work out.

They are 7 points behind us.

Which sounds great.

But their next game is saints which is a guaranteed 3 points.

We have city and villa next. We really need to win one of those. Let's imagine we pick up one point from those two, which is a fairly likely outcome.

Going into the game at selhurst they would be 5 behind us with a game in hand. IF and this is a big IF they beat us they will be 2 points behind with a game in hand.

In short, looking forward to getting the next 3 league games out the way!! We are in great form but we are due a dip.

On a positive note our last run of games is mostly Vs teams on the beach.
Nearly called it. Can't believe palace only drew with saints though !

Glasner has been their De Zerbi appointment

Hopefully Villa can do the business against Palace at Wembley and leave them with a "what if" season.
Then Glasner can piss off to some European giant and take Mateta and EZe with him.

I might be tempting fate but they have a pretty tough run in. I'm a massive advocate of Fabian but if he can't get a decent return from our next three and extend our lead over Palace it will be a huge missed oppertunity

Indeed

anything less than 6 pts from the next 3 will be disappointing.

Sure, but they were bang ordinary yesterday, and if we had an ounce of imagination in the final third would have won.
The ability to play a decent ball into the box has been our downfall in the last three games. Mitoma being the worst offender, does everything right until he needs to set a team mate up. Appalling final balls, all round in truth. If we don’t improve, we are going to be sliding down the table, given our openness at the back when we attack or have corners. We will keep conceding with the way Fab plays. Hard to criticise Bart too much as he is left so exposed but he really has been saving f*** all recently.

I’d like to see Gruda given a run, set up the best chance of the day yesterday.

Palace took their chances, so they are not that ordinary, we hardly created any. f***ing frustrating watch in the last three games.

They are ordinary, particularly when they are largely outplayed by another bang ordinary team, and only have 3 shots. I would say that’s pretty poor.

We’re a bit like an U10s team at time, the whole ‘win the ball high up’ is great until it isn’t (see Chelsea A and Villa), and the first goal where Guehi (?sp) fought off 3 or 4 players who were desperately trying to tackle him, before setting up the open Mateta was just poor.

Sometimes, when we lose possession I would just like us to get into a better defensive shape, rather than busting a gut trying to correct an error. It just seems like when youngsters start out chasing the ball.

That is probably very harsh on Fab who absolutely drills the players into these situations, but he is learning at the same time.

Edit - I like Gruda as well, just not out wide, though still infinitely preferable to Adingra.

THe best balls into the box came from March.
Which was why it was so frustrating seeing him being ignored by the rest of the team.

What BEST balls were these? I must have missed them! I thought he was pretty poor (he was not alone) and showed way too much frustration for a seasoned pro. We really needed a calm head and leadership from him imo.

Our defending must be the worst nightmare for a fan who puts it top of the agenda when we are playing, and for Bart too! :lolol:
I am shocked you don’t think GP was the best thing since sliced bread, we seldom got carved open under him!

Two aerial crosses into the box.
Exactly what was needed at that point.

Guys…. They are a better side than us

Simples

Get over it

Btw. The south coast teams are seriously tanking it the last few weeks. Even Bournemouth look to have peaked! It’s you soft southerners bottling it

He just benefited from Hughton’s good habits, whilst implementing his more offensive style IMO.

Defending should be everyone’s number 1 thing, because at 0-0 you have a point 😉👍

We created more than them. Sure, we weren't clinical, and the keeper stopped a couple, but we did create chances.
