In an interview on Sun FM this lunchtime, Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy says he reckons all three promoted teams will struggle in the Premiership and that Palace will probably be relegated. He said the gap between the Premiership and the Coca Cola Championship is getting wider every season. He went on to say that the division is so tough that either Palace, Norwich or West Brom could even get less points than Sunderland when they went down two seasons ago.

Mick McCarthy talks shite he,s just pissed he never got up

I think you are correct in that there is an element of sour grapes, unlike the Murphy's, Mick is one bitter yorkshire bastard.

However I think you might go for, is it Stoke or Sunderland? record of lowest number of points.

I guess your best hope is to put Dowie behind the goal that you are defending, that will scare the shit out of even the best strikers in the world.

Stoke, season 1984-85, 17 points from 42 games. :dunce: :dunce:

Although bizarrely two of their three victories that season came against Arsenal and Man Utd!???

Sadly I think even Palace might get more points than that. Sunderlands records might be worth a go. Although Dowie will probably surprise everyone, not sure how, maybe a face lift?

Please unc, dont make me picture his face...
