Accountants please, but over 4 million of the loss was due to "goodwill impairment" ?

Does that mean that something was intangible and valued has had it's value corrected ?

For instance "Palace Brand" was valued at 10 million and now valued at 6 ?

Or something they had valued isn't given a value anymore ?

So they only technically had a loss of 1 million.. and as they spent 1.5 million on improvements at Selhurst, doesn't look like a particularly bad year for a Championship football club.

Before you all get too excited, read the whole thread and not the headline.
For some of you to wish administration on another team ... such short memories

Chill, it's just rival fans taking the piss. What would you expect? We don't expect you to be going into administration.

I'd imagine ours will make horrific reading.

Will we be getting two sets? One for the club and one for the stadium?

1) Quite likely, this thread's a embarrassment imo.
2) I'd expect so, although I haven't had look at the filings at CH for ages so don't know for sure if the Community Stadium Company still exists or there's been some restructuring.
May invest a few quid and have a look on Thursday.

The goodwill is there because they are owned by a parent company, and compared to what they paid for it, it is now worth jack. The goodwill means that they paid more than the book value of the assets, ie they were paying for the brand/value/prestige. Now they have no choice but to write off the fall in value as an expense.

Incidentally, all these Groupon deals may have been a ruse to try to get the value back up again.

No, very long memories.

Long trips to Gillingham, long wet seasons playing in a converted athletics stadium, 14 years of dicking around in the lower leagues because we, unlike your robbing bunch of bastards decided to do the unthinkable in football terms, we PAID OUR BILLS.

So leave out the self righteous bollocks of "wish administration on another team". CPFC should have ceased to exist long ago but you cheated the Tax man, Small Business and charities in order to preserve your status.
