Palace keen to create atmosphere

Crystal Palace have declared Saturday's FA Cup third-round clash at Tottenham a "Red and Blue Day".
The Eagles are expecting a 5,000-strong travelling army to follow their team at White Hart Lane after selling their ticket allocation.

But Palace will attempt to recreate the atmosphere of their 1990 FA Cup final appearance by providing them with 10,000 balloons in club colours.

A club spokesman said: "We want to turn the away end of White Hart Lane into a sea of red and blue."

Palace are also offering 30% discounts on Eagles shirts in the club shop in preparation for the game.

To be fair, I think it is great when a club does things like this to create a great buzz in the away end, 10.000 ballons will look pretty impressive

At least they are in the third round, our exit this season was one of the most spineless performances I have seen from both players and fans in a long while

It should be a good game and both teams have had mixed form this season. The balloon idea is a good one - I think you have been copying Albion fans there. Workmates of mine are going up for the game.

One small boy with a burst balloon would create an above-average atmosphere at White Hart Lane IMHO.

Do you think we could get him down to the Withdean then?

Pretty balloons, brighton rock, but not the same atmosphere when you lose, huh??
