It wasn't a steam train but the Millenium play off final day was very cool. We could get hot grub on the way back and mysteriously bottles of booze emerged from all over the train on the way back. It was a great day.

The funny thing is "Lord Dowding" (actually Braunton) was built in Brighton. Bet he wont tell the fans that! Hopefully it will fail on the journey to Southampton

What a splendid idea! Main line steam trips are pretty expensive anyway, so not unduly over-priced. Yes, it's a lot of money (or it is to me anyway) but what a smashing day out it would be if it was us.
