I assume you've mis-spelt "murry" (sic) in your signature deliberately, or are you too thick to be able to spell your own player's name?

Haha I noticed this, as well as the lack of capital letter for someone's name :ffsparr:

Brightons academy will be grade 2 as there's no over night facilities.

I don't think man u have either so there's will be Grade 2. As they don't believe it's the right way to raise players, being in a bubble not the real world without guidance if parents etc.

Makes sense.

Why is Palace Grade 2?

So why start a thread about it then ?
The day you can compete with our academy is the day you can take the piss. 4 players in englands under 16's, not bad is it ?

we're taking the piss because it's the one thing that you lot constantly bang on about "our academy this, our academy that"............turns out it isn't actually that great

our academy has been run out of a portakabin for about 15 years, it's any wonder that we managed to produce anyone of any worth whatsoever......surely you understand why we're playing catch up in that respect.......but we will catch you up, and most likely overtake you, it'll just take a while

Hey go easy on that portakabin - it produced Gareth Barry - more worthy than anything that shithole up the road has ever churned out.

I imagine that the thread was started to point out to you sad deluded wankers that you haven't got an"amazing" academy, just a quite good one. And the day we surpass your little endeavour is just around the corner.

Do you even have an academy?

Aww, bless.

Funnily enough an academy hasn't been top priority over the past 15 years or so. We've had a few other things that have occupied the limited funds the club has had, i.e. getting a stadium where any academy graduates could actually play in future.

Despite all that we have still produced in recent years:

Dunk and Hall - wanted by Prem teams
El-abd - over 250 appearances and now an International
JFC - England under 18
Virgo - Sold for £1.5m
Elphick - player of the year a few years back
Hammond and Harding - the Captain of Southampton and the left back for them

etc etc

Not bad for a youth set up run by one man and his dog out of a portaloo. As I said we have had other priorities over the last decade or so, mainly concerning making sure we survive without spending over our means
