The 1st round of the League Cup is also divided into Northern and Southern sections. Notts County (NORTH of the Trent) were in the Southern section of the draw, whilst Forest (SOUTH of the Trent) were in the Northern side of the draw.

Go figure.

Well that makes great sense then. I Assume the idea of doing the draw by region is to reduce travel. Therefore, County can't play Forest which is all of 10 minutes walk away but could get Carlisle.

Bearing in mind we have put a man on the moon, is it really that hard to have a proper regional draw with say Midlands, North and south?
