You're being too kind, although this is admirable. Just like The Mail, this poster -- who, unlike you, is not a visible presence as an Albion fan, to the best of my limited knowledge on such matters -- indulges in smear tactics/guilt by association based on the most tenuous connections. The best we can do is expose such things, and hope enough other posters can see through it.
Tenuous connection ?? How on earth could you class accepting a caution for accessing childporn as tenuous , smear tactics or guilt by association ?? Also , what are you on about with the Albion fan reference ? How is that pertinent to this thread ?

My goodness, is that what you think you're doing? Do you honestly think you're providing a public service here?

Don't kid yourself - you're just venting your prejudices against the Daily Mail because...well, you have prejudices against the Daily Mail, it's an easy target where you can trot out the usual cliches without really trying too hard and there's a mutual massaging of egos as you indulge in this moral superiority w*nkfest with other like-minded posters.

If we're linking Savile to ex-Tory leaders then I think you're all pointing the finger at the wrong one. A much better candidate would be Ted Heath. I don't think you have to be too much of a tinfoil-hatter to link Savile with Heath via Haut De La Garenne Children's Home in Jersey. They should both rot in hell for the damage they did there.

In response to your two questions:
1, look back at post 46, you were attempting to smear or associate by guilt The Large One
2, I have no idea whether you have a high profile as an Albion fan. Sorry. I do have an idea that The Large One has a high profile as an Albion fan, as he is one of the presenters on The Albion Roar. As such, I'd imagine that he has generated much support amongst Albion and Albion fans in general (many of whom read and post on NSC), so I'd advise that engaging in 1 might not be the best approach to garnering support for your arguments.

In a later post you ask me about Brown. I think he is in part responsible for getting us into this mess (although this is widely unacknowledged), but also was pretty decisive in preventing the mess spilling out of control (this too is widely unacknowledged). And you?

I like kidding myself but, then again, I know that I'm not devoid of prejudices. And you?

I don't know,Mach.
Did read that apparently 40% of Mail readers vote Labour though!

I've read similar figures and for The Sun too. Just goes to show that they're not quite as effective as certain people claim (and I'd include myself in that category at times too).

Man U fans, Polly Toynbee, hipsters, textspeak, people who feed pigeons, the IRA, Times New Roman font, TV panel shows...oh I've got prejudices alright.

Good. I've been a Man U fan since six, and Toynbee is one of my favourite journalists. Don't think I'm a hipster, and will end it there.

I wasn't attempting to smear The Large one , I was merely highlighting his gross hypocrisy in showing support for a known nonce (Pete Townshend who accepted a caution for accessing child porn and was placed on the sex offenders register) and then making a mealy mouthed 'make of this what you will ' post which contained no hard evidence at all and smeared numerous people, I am also incredulous at your suggestion that I should pay regard to The Large Ones " celebrity " status ( snigger :lolol:) amongst Albion fans when engaging him in debate on here.

Dandyman

In London village.

Hard to see anything in the Telegraph story that casts doubt on Harman's reponse. I don't happen to like her very much but that is not relevant to the smear tactics going on. If either the Mail or Telegraph want to investigate a genuine child protection issue from that era why don't they look at why Sir Peter Hayman, a very active member of PIE, and also deputy director of MI6 escaped prosecution.

Defending a known nonce? Accessing child porn? Again, you're still not right.

You're making the schoolboy error of thinking I'm defending someone when the reality is I'm attacking your pissweak argument. Fact is - I've never said he isn't a paedophile (and I've no idea - though you seem to be more in the know...), but you've never offered any hard evidence to show he is, apart from getting your facts wrong, of course.

Anyway, I presume you've missed the 'gross hypocrisy' in your post. You stated that the allegations (which were proved not to be merely 'allegations') in that link were only 'rumours'; a bit like Pete Townshend being a 'known, convicted nonce' being rumours - ones you were happy to circulate.

Pissweak argument ?? Really , youve ' no idea ' whether hes a paedophile , which part of accepting a caution for accessing childporn, and being placed on the sex offenders register lends itself to ambiguity ?? Oh sorry, I forgot he's a musician that you like and he claimed it was for " research " , thats all right then, simple mistake that anyone can make , given your acceptance of his story i'd like to make a proposal , my father is the finance minister of nigeria , we are trying to transfer £ 1000,000 to an account , if you can help me do this i will pay you blah blah blah you know the rest.........

Why wasn't this organisation hounded out of existence within 3-4 months of its creation? That's what I'd like to know.

I think it's because paedophilia wasn't a big thing back then. It simply didn't motivate the public, as it does now. The problem is that most paedophilia takes place within the family, whereas most media coverage concerns predators, like Saville. And to deal with that you need regulation that intrudes into the family, social workers that can do and are left to do their job, etc -- none of which is too popular these days either.
