Owen Coyle goes to Bolton.

People keep saying this but he was only at Bolton for 2 years and played less than 60 times for them. I really don't understand where this great love for Bolton he seems to have comes from. Stupid move for him in my opinion, particularly having turned down Celtic over the summer.

Agree - seems a dodgy decision to me. He's either a mug, or has been offered loads of personal wages and lolly to spend.

This deal also says a lot about the aspirations of Celtic (and Rangers) to play in the Premiership. Manager turns down one of the top two teams in Jockland to stay with a club with little money and (at the time) odds on to go back down to the Championship then moves to another club which seem odds on to go down.

Let's hope Gartside gets his comeuppence.

When Burnley appointed him most footballaholics said "Owen who?" Now Burnley have 38 games in the Premiership, another team on a one season interlude, and everyone has an angle on Owen.He has gone to another struggling, punching above their weight Manchester area team who could be visiting Scunthorpe next season. Both teams have a very good chance of going down.

Managers,of course, have a short shelf life, and Mr Coyle has at least guaranteed himself a decent pay off should he get sacked. If they go down, then start slowly next season he'll be high on that list of "first to lose their job" at the bookies. It's just my own {excellent} judgement that makes me say I don't really rate him,and would be truly disappointed if he ever came to our club.He is,after all,one of those touchline boys who often wears shorts even though he just won't play.
