Definitely a throw in. Scottish rules clearly state that if you’re the referee, you’ve got a tenner on the match and some idiot scores thus meaning that you’ll lose money, you can disallow the goal and award a throw in from a random location on the pitch.

The eventual outcome of the referee's call was never shown in the video. The ball was kicked forward by the away team. Despite what the announcer said it seemed it was clear that #19 for the home team was standing offside on the mis-kick by the eventual goal scorer, Dillon. If offside was ruled by the referee at that point the goal was disallowed and because he was lazy and didn't want to run back towards the goal he awarded a free kick for the away team at the area of the discussion once the offside call was verified by the lino.

You can tell what the linesman gave by, erm, looking at him. The only signal he gave was for the throw-in, which was what the referee - having consulted the linesman - awarded. The referee even made the physical gesture of 'throw-in'.

The linesman was in the correct position - on the goal-line - so how he never saw it go in, no-one will ever know.

Whatever, what he did NOT do was signal for offside.

Surely no linesman can be that incompetent, its so far over the line that in the PL there would have been no need to check the goal line technology.

The other surprise to me, is that no Partick Thistle players were red carded for calling the match officials cheats
