Ban 'em from the roads. All they do is drive slowly or dangerously. They are a menace. All over 50's should be made to take their driving tests every year and all blondes (females) should have to undego an additional IQ test before they can hit the roads.

I'm fed up with them!

You're definately right about elderly drivers!

When you get to a certain age you should be made to take regular medical check ups and get retested.

Old biddies are for ever pulling out in front of me or wandering lanes.

f*** you:salute:

I'm over 50 and drive neither slowly or dangerously.

:salute:

I think all under 35's should be made to take their tests every six months until they realise that they are NOT the most important person on the road and everybody else should get out of their way.

:salute:

So what is this certain age? I suspect it will always be a few years older than your age at the time.....

When I first started driving it was on a motorbike. In Hove. Where almost daily some geriatric would try to kill me. One in particular by slowly reversing into me at a petrol station. Other well known tricks included suddenly turning right across two lanes of moving traffic despite the left indicator flashing madly.

Nowadays from the relative safety of a car I often get stuck behind ancient drivers who have left Eastbourne to explore the wide world a couple of miles down the A27. And who are attempting to control a car that's too powerful for them even at 28 miles an hour. Usually while having a conversation with someone in the back seat.

But before people start condeming "Over 50's", are these people any more dangerous than the spotty Schumacher imitators who've rarely reached 20. Let alone 50. And who think good driving means never knowingly letting your speed drop below 75 mph. Especially in towns or anywhere there's the best chance of wiping out as many people as possible when the the car goes totally out of control.

As for blondes - well, women driving badly drive me demented. There's plenty of good women drivers, all badly let down by the hopeless brigade! I'm regularly tempted to shout at 'em because every dozy (and it's doziness that they usually demonstrate behind the wheel) woman driver lets down the rest of us.

Don't have a pop at me!
I don't regard 50 as elderly.

I'm talking 70's atleast.

Why should those who have never committed an offence whilst driving (well one they have been caught doing) be retested purely because of age.

Far better to make any person banned from the roads for more than 6 months re sit their test before getting their licence back.

I think you'll find that Turkey is a perfectly good driver. You and Gay FC on the other hand and flippin manics!

Im sure this thread was tongue in cheek, but for the record I do not know a single person over 50 who drives badly...and I happen to know many people under 35 that drives like idiots.

:p :drink:

Not having a pop-you weren't specific about the age(s) and I was in defensive mode.
