KIT NAPIER
So what's the weirdest thing that has ever happened to you?
My starter:
Was standing in a bar at North Bridge in Edinburgh the week before Christmas in 1996 with four work mates. Our conversation drifted to a number of unexplained deaths and mysterious happenings over the years in that particular pub and in the hotel next door. We traced through a few spooky events. One colleague started to tell the tale of a woman who had hanged herself in the lift shaft of the hotel a few years ago. Then suddenly another colleague yelled: "Nic you're on fire". I laughed thinking it was a joke. Then suddenly a number of people started yelling "fire". My back felt very hot!
"Get you jacket off now!" someone screamed.
I unzipped my jacket and pulled it off to find it was well ablaze.
I dropped it to the floor and stamped out the fire. The £120 jacket was ruined!
I then realised that the back of the jacket had brushed against a candle in a bottle on a bar table behind me.
We had drunk in that bar regularly for three years and it was the first and only time anything like this had happened!
