Had we kept Lynch, seen Hinshelwood return to fitness and Sullivan emerge as a genuine contender for the goalkeeping spot and Fraser continue to develop then the tinkering needed was minimal.

We certainly had enough centre backs.

Add McNulty, Jarrett, Livermore and one of the forwards to last season's squad and you would have seen a quality team develop under a decent manager.

All the chopping and changing was not needed and has been counter-productive.

The numbers of players brought it is what you'd expect if we'd finished 20th last season and in need of a total overhaul.

If we have a bit of money it's about time we identified the team we squad we want and stick to it. I've already got Withdean fatigue and now I've got loanee fatigue.
