What with Mayo injured and now Knight out for a couple of games we have a terrible problem on our left side of midfield. Personally to see it solved I would like a change of formation to the 5-3-2 that served us so well during our purple patch at the start of the year. However McGhee does not seem to want to revert to this formation so who would you like to see take the position?

I can't see any options apart from Jones myself.

I just wonder if Jones wishes to play for us now, as he has not been offered a contract.

But other than that I think you are right with the formation, for the next couple of games.

hes a bit lightweight but he certainly not crap. and jones isnt exactly awesome! when i saw us in the second game against plymouth, jarrett impressed me more than the likes of currie and the other new players. his confidence is now shot at, because he has been treated like shit

I agree we need to revert to 5-3-2. I would put Harding on the left side of the back 3 and give Jonah a run out on the left side. He deserves a chance, and we need one of his good performances right now.

Jarrett has not been given a chance to prove himself. I liked what I saw earlier in the season and he should be brought back from Stevenage for, at the very least, a place on the bench.

Harding was ok at left wingback but I would bring in El Abd in the centre or even Elphick as he was on the bench on Saturday (was El Abd injured?).

The wing-back 5-3-2 system is flawed. basically because the players do not cover enough of the pitch just running up the outside and because it is only possible to play on one wing at a time.

The trouble with Watson at right back he is left footed (can't clear with his right foot), under pressure he would clear towards the centre of the pitch risking giving possession away. It would be OK if we had an anchor man in midfield to pass to (Nicolas is not good enough, not enough stamina and presence).

Instead of a holding midfielder (two is common nowadays) like Charlie Oatway, I would tend to put Adam Virgo in front of the back four.

We are missing both Hinsh and Mayo as we are two slow in the centre at the back. The obvious ploy is to play deep and avoid the sudden beakaway through the centre? This means we are under pressure all the time though.

What system allows you to play on both wings at the same time?

How does missing Mayo make us slow at the back? The Ginger Prince has never been blessed with pace - even when he was younger and several stone lighter!

Misworded. He is faster than Cullip, Butter and Dolan. That does not make him fast though.
