Scott Morgan faces "severe" punishment from Forest Green Rovers after turning on his captain Martin Foster midway through their Nationwide Conference defeat to Halifax Town on Saturday.
Morgan (pictured) threw a punch at Foster and then butted him after the skipper had chastised him for conceding a sloppy penalty deep into first-half injury-time. But Forest Green boss Colin Addison was cautious not to blurt out accusations before he has seen the match video.
"I don't like that type of thing - you've got to have discipline at a football club," Addison said. "I did see contact between the two players and that is very disappointing.
"But I've asked for the video and when I've seen it, people will see what I'm going to do about it. It's odds on one or both players will be severely disciplined."
The two players had to be pulled apart by their team-mates and Morgan was sent-off for violent conduct.
