Had a decent session at the big pub near the station in Horley last week, the Jack Somethingorother. Bottle of San Miguel 99 pence. Can't go far wrong with two bottles and a pint glass. Especially on Thursdays which is their Curry Club night

The whole going to the pub expierence has changed for the worse over the years

1 The price of beer

2 Longer opening hours - means that punters go in at all hours of the day and sit vertually on their own while staff are being paid to do their uni homework, remember when pubs were open between 11-3 (or before that 2!) the pubs were packed at lunchtime and had atmosphere.

3 having a skinfull - gettin pissed in a pub is now deemed akin to shaggin a nun, "oooh i'll have a cappuccino and a J20 please" enjoy resposibly FFS!

4 Televisions - if you want to watch TV fuckin stay indoors "How's it goin mate? ssshhh Barnet are about to take a corner"

5 Smokin ban - I'm a non smoker but it's still a factor (only one of them, mind)

anyhoo, that's what I reckon

.

apart from 4, I agree.

I hardly ever go to pubs now, not just price of a pint, got fed up sitting on my own staring down my pint glass. Only go now before football or if I arrange to meet friends. Drink more at home, only now the cat has developed a liking for red wine!
