On all my windows and doors snapped into the surround are these plastic wedges(?). They keep breaking and apart from having no idea what they do I have not been able to obtain replacements. The firm that installed the windows and doors went bust.

So are they important and if so any ideas as to where to go to get some more?

I think they are there to help align the window when it is closed. There are only a few factory manufacturers of uPVC profiles, so you may find others that fit. Good luck.

I'm not sure where you get them but you can buy dusters in any supermarkets.

I can tell you they are casement guides to keep the sash in the same position every time you shut them, as to who will supply them you could ring or go to the double glazing repair center in tarring road worthing 01903 233017, likely is that no one will stock them and they will have to order them, only you will need to measure size as there are different size profiles (depth of frame) and all are not the same size if that makes any sense or take it with you.
