Just seen that Kirtley is in the One-Day squad which in its own right is damn good but he still should be in the test squad. My betting is that he's going for the One dayers and if any injuries pop up the England selectors can quickly promote him to Test status.

I can't understand the selection of Rikki Clarke. Kirtley is very unlucky.

You've got Flintoff, both keepers are handy with the bat, and you've got Collingwood. Why do we need another all-rounder? In the sub-continent you need specialists, not bits and pieces players who are unproven.

Hoggard can count himself lucky.

I would have picked the same squad but with two changes: Kirtley for Hoggard and Strauss for Clarke.

Champions elect and no players deemed good enough for the Test squad. MacLaurin is right - cricket does need a complete reorganisation.

I think Hoggard has to go, we need battlers in the sub continent.

I'd out Kirtley in for Clarke and I really would have taken Prior, not being biased here but he has scored more runs that any other wicket keeper batsmen in the country.

An absolute disgrace. MOM in his first test, not so good in his second (but then again, who did play ok in that one?). Do the selectors need a lesson in cricket?
As for Rikki (his face looks better in the dark) Clarke, what has he done to deserve this? Plays for Slurrey just about sums up the fiasco that is called the England selection board.

I am absolutely   mad about Charke's selection.

His stats are bloody awful - he's only scored 1368 runs in his entire first class career -
