Anyone remember the Abercrombie Pub?
Sunday nights used to be kickin' bruv.
:clap2:
Excellent pub, sadly missed.

On my birthday in the late 70s I went on a crawl as follows:

Plough & Sail - now closed
Golden Goose - now a hotel
Abercrombie - closed
White Hart - still there
Bridge - knocked down and replaced by flats
Swan - still there
Red Lion - still there
Norfolk Arms - still there
Eagle - still there
Newbergh - closed
Old Ship - closed
Victory - closed
St Mary's Gate - still there

And no, I didn't manage a pint in each! Lots of pubs there sadly missed.

Hampshire Dave - I think you mean the White Hart.

er..no!

The Swan Pub was actually a family run pub and hotel for years and did not have its own brewery.
It was actually purchased by The Arundel Brewery about 12 years ago but the brewery were already based at the industrial estate in Ford back then. They simply became the owners and used it as an outlet for their ale

Oops, I stand corrected!!

Fuzzy memory from all that ale! I knew there was some kind of link though.

I was in there one Saturday lunchtime 19 years ago. Had just got back from St Richards Hospital where my wife was expecting our second daughter. Just about to eat a sandwich before setting off for The Goldstone when I got the call that the baby was on her way. Missed my first home game for several years. It was a rare win in a bad season as we beat Hull City 2-1.

Still, at least I didn't get one of those dreadful anouncements on the Goldstone tannoy where they asked you to get back to the hospital!!
