cant say ive actually got it plugged in and used it yet, but ive just got a Sony DU700 or somthing. DVD R/RW-/+ and dual layer to boot. £80.

If you have a look on http://www.microdirect.co.uk/productlister.aspx?GroupID=42 they have the Pioneer DVR-108 for £56.39 and they get good reviews (have the 106 myself).

Slightly cheaper is the NEC ND-3500 for £48.16, but I can't vouch for its quality.
