Its not like the old days, in a sports hall at the Triangle in Burgess Hill! the kids got to get up close to ALL the superstars back then...

AND there was face-painting, a bouncy castle, Albion cup cakes - and for the Dads - Gully's Girls in little Santa outfits...
It's impressive that they found two sets of identical twins for the photo.

What about poor old Cashin - or did they just have him on cone placement duty

No, he was there, showing off his tricks...

Tasker (19) and Simmonds (17) certainly have the physique for mens football. Wonder how long before they become genuine contenders for the first team. Would be some welcome additions to have a few more youth team coming through.

I really enjoyed today as always though agree with the comments about it being a shame we don't have as much access to the players as we used to. The kids all loved it though which was the main thing.

I know it's only training etc and being an open day, probably not the regular session so take it with a pinch of salt, but the positive things that stood out to me in the actual training session were:

- The under 21 players who all took part looked really impressive.
- Solly looked awesome.
- Cashin and O'Riley both looked really good.

I’d echo most of what Sarisbury Seagull said…

Seen some pretty negative comments on here and X etc around todays open session but this goes against my experience having actually been…

Really enjoyed watching the team train - saw some real class from some of the squad - as well as some worrying parts… as you’d expect from a training session.

The club put a huge amount on for the kids and they were occupied for 5 hours for the price of less than a pint.

Yes, I would have preferred to sit in the lower tiers but I do understand that it turns into chaos at the end with oiks clambering over each other to get things signed…

Sure those lucky enough to be picked for a signing session (as Nick Jr was last year) - will no doubt have had a day that they will never forget.

It seems people are trying to find any possible way to slag our own club off at the moment and I get that the last couple of weeks have been disappointing… but to put a negative spin on a (mostly) free family day is clutching!

We couldn't go today but it has lost some of it's magic that you can't get your shirt signed.
I may have mentioned this before :lolol: but it was at the training day 3? years ago that we got our first sig on our shirt. It's only 'our' shirt as Jnr accidentally wore mine, I didn't realise it was mine until after it was signed and I next went to wear it.
We saw players signing stuff, I told him to take it off & try & get a sig on it. Which he did & it's travelled with us, along with a sharpie to every match since, just in case. We couldn't sell it, (neither would we want to) as we have no idea whose sig is whose. We have post it notes that we write on after but have never been intelligent enough to do a pic of when it's being signed so we can see after. I did buy a 'clip frame' to put it in but the shirt kept 'falling down' in the frame & we kept having to take it out for matches anyway. Just to make it clear, we're bad fans that don't get to go to many matches. It's a shirt full of memories that I probably wont bother taking with me to the beam back!
As always, it's a small minority (the ones that want the sigs to sell) that spoil it for others who just want a collection of sigs. 🤦‍♀️

Really enjoyed it yesterday and so did the kids. Was very impressed with the range of activities that the club put on. The players did sign autographs and pose for photos as they were leaving the stadium as my son got photos with Baleba, Cahill and Adingra.

This was the women's team training. Making it even stranger, seeing as there is normally much closer interaction between players and fans
Not sure why that was posted on Twitter yesterday or the reason for the tone but - from the accounts published on here - it was very misleading. Both teams , in the end trained across the whole pitch, there were various opportunities to get selfies with players both ad hoc and formal , and multiple activities . But hey.

I believe the reason for posting was just to wind people up and take another pitiful pop at the club.
