So if you could include one Albion player from the past in todays team, who would you pick and who would they replace.

For me it would have to be Mark Lawrenson in with Elphick at the back.

Paul Watson for Painter at left back (yes I know he played right back, but replace Calderon? Jog on!) for his set pieces.

Zamora. Not even a Zamora as we remember him... he would do in his current form. Zamora and Murray would be lethal up front.

Murray and Ward would be better. Those of us who were lucky enough to see him and Ian Mellor rampaging through Third Division defences know this.

Ward. Just for the pleasure of watching him and the anticipation when he had the ball.

Assuming we are playing 4-5-1 or 4-3-3, Zamora is by far the best placed striker to play the loan striker role (unlike Ward he didn't need a strike partner and unlike Murray he was prolific at Withdean). So BZ in for Murray is surely a 'given'.

If allowed the luxury of 2nd swap, I'd like Simon Morgan in for El Abd.

Hmmm good question..............and a very close call in my book. Peter Ward would always be my favorate all time player.........Legend. But he was a bit of a failure at the top level......compared to Bobby Zee. IMO Zamora would also benefit the the current team more with his hold -up play and style of football Poyet is trying to play. Ward prob more exciting.....Zamora would score more goals in this team and bring more people into play.........so Zamora, just.*

*Lawro was the classiest Brighton player i have seen

In this division,Eddie Spearritt, though of course he might be red carded prior to kick off.

Or Dave Hollins in goal.

Or Kit Napier........or Ken Beamish..........or Nobby Horton.........or Big Alex

Stop putting these threads on,they drive me crazy.

Have to agree...for both his footballing skills and leadership!

Mind you,Wardy who is my fav all time player,Bobby Z or the great Bobby S,he of Spurs,England and Brighton fame could all end our goal scoring problems rather effectively.....dream on!!
