It’s that thing about drafting in the water, bike or run. You can be 20 seconds ahead and a group forms behind you on the swim or bike, especially, and you can be reeled back in by one specialist in and then overrun by another hanging onto their coattails.
This one is surely here to stay. It’s high intensity, high skill, tactics and stunning straight line speed. It’s cracking TV.

Having done a few triathlons in my time, they are great fun. Bonkers, frantic and draining, but it's a great community with amazing support.

Similar GB. I really enjoyed them. I did IM and promptly gave up! Training put me off. Will get back into shorter races as a veteran! More realistic training.

Pretty much the same here. Virtually zero swimming done since Ironman Wales 2018 and not much cycling either! Need to put that right soon. Mid-Sussex Tri is a favourite – largely because the swim is so short!

After the high of GB Mixed Triathlon gold, GB 400m hurdler Jessie Knight trips and smashes into the first hurdle, tumbles out of the heat. 4 years preparation for that. Total wipeout.

Oh no. Shows how finely tuned training is all the preparation you can do but the emotional strain and distress must be so mentally scrambling. I get nervous playing a stranger at pool in a pub.

I’m now two stone heavier than I was then! Need to train! Will do a race next year if you fancy. Would be a good target.
Swimming’s my favourite (bad knees) and I get worse throughout the race! Live in London now but mid Sussex works.

That 100m mixed medley swimming race was awesome! That was way more exciting than a standard relay.
Unfortunately at the same time the swimmers were winning gold the womens rugby 7's fell in the semis against the French.

My body clock is all over the place...trouble being that this is my job working on experience day events with Olympic athletes.
The GB Medallists have raised £506k in donations and post Olympics they are hosting a series of vip challenge events called 'Beat the Medallist' where you get given time bonuses linked to how much you fundraise for your chosen good cause.
If there was one event you would love to do and see if you could beat the time set by an Olympic Medallist what would it be?

GB just came up short in the Rugby 7s, but a first medal for Fiji in any women's sport.
Let's hope the funding can be brought back for GB Sevens. It's a game of fine margins, so the 4th place for both GB Men and Women might've been better.
