Why have they re-announced this today, with a big fanfare, when it was already announced about a year ago?

Because they have confirmed more details of the route. Previously they just confirmed the overnight stops.

"On July 16 it will pass through West Sussex with Arun District Council confirming North and South Bersted, Bognor, Aldingbourne and Arundel are included in the route.

It will then move through the Worthing and Adur areas before a celebration for up to 20,000 people is held at Hove Lawns, Hove.

The following day the torch will pass through Crowborough, Lewes, Eastbourne, Pevensey, Bexhill and St Leonards before an evening celebration in Hastings.

It will also stop at the Seven Sisters, the coastal landmark near Seaford.

The flame then continues through Hastings and passes through Rye before continuing its journey through Kent and around the country.

The street by street detail of the route will be confirmed next year."

It says it will go from Brighton & Hove to Crawley, but what route is it actually taking? Doesn't say anything on the BBC website!

If it's a weekend I imagine it will be on a replacement bus service
