Can't really be arsed to comment on who should or should not be involved in the tedious torch relay.

One point in your post does intrigue me though. Who would you consider a PROPER celebrity, if Drogba and Will.I.am are 'second rate'?

The Olympics has nothing to do with how many medals we win. Its all about putting on a show hoping to attract new business.

A couple of months they where talking about athletes lower down the scale who where having trouble getting any sort of sponsorship to fund their training for the Olympics. It makes me wonder what the priority is here. They can spend hundreds of millions of pounds on rubbish for the Olympics but can't afford to throw a few quid to help the actual people who are going to represent us in this games.

Its going to be a fantastic event, but so far it's been a bit of a cock up as regards tickets and re-generation.

I am not star struck by anyone and I dont consider anyone to be more of a celeb than the next man/woman..
I personally would not cross the road to see any off them,

But the flames should be carried by someone with links to the town in which it is passing,,

Drogba....SWindon? how about Melinda Messenger ? Or Billie piper? at least they look OK..

or of course Julian Clarey or John Francome?

Drogba is down to one of the sponsors of the games, which is samsung. Each major sponsor gets to have a certain number of people carrying the torch.

Like wise drogba has lived in this country years also is one of the biggest names in this country so why should he not.

I'm puzzled half time people slag the olympics of then moan about something happening in it.
