Old sayings

My mind was wandering today as it often does and I was thinking of some choice old sayings heard over the years from my parents. I think some of them are too good to allow to become extinct so here they are for posterity - anyone got any good ones to add!

"Like a cow with a musket" - doing something awkwardly

"Shit and fell back in it"

and

"Pissed past the pot" - both when a "cunning plan" goes tits up.

"Like Barneys Bull, buggered" - broken in other words (who was barney?).

"Like a fart in a colander trying to decide which hole to get out of" - indecisive.

My Grandad used to say "It's black over Will's Mother's" when looking out the window at bad weather approaching.

Never found out who Will's Mother was.

That's a common expression in Yorkshire but they call him Bill.
