Another simple one.. Kaiser Chiefs.. would sound good going back and forth between the fans...

Oh My God I can't believe it
We've got a ground we can call our home

To the tune of Hit the Road Jack:

Craig Makail Smith
He's gonna hunt you down and score and score
Craig Makail Smith
He’s gonna hunt you down and score

Now THAT has possibilities. Can't go wrong with a bit of Ray Charles ...

Evening all , how about this one in honour of the chairman , to the tune of "lets all do the conga" ?
Bloom , Bloom , Bloom ,
Thankyou for for the Amex ,
Bloom , Bloom , Bloom ,
We got a home once more , (repeat many times)

Easy , catchy and to the point ?

Does anyone remember the old North Stand clapping "song"

it went

clap-clap clap-clap clap-clap-clap-clap-clap
clap-clap clap-clap clap-clap-clap-clap-clap
(quite a few times - till someone started on the Ohhh)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
(for quite a long time with everyone joining in)
then back to
clap-clap clap-clap clap-clap-clap-clap-clap
clap-clap clap-clap clap-clap-clap-clap-clap

and repeat. I used to love that. sometimes the clapping went on for longer sometimes the Ohhhhhhhhh went on for ages.

So simple - and made a real noise.

Oh yes - this would be TOP QUALITY, more so because lots of clubs don't use the handclap that much these days.
That's why I'm still a fan of the old stalwart: "Brighton clap-clap-clap, Brighton clap-clap-clap"

When I used to go and watch Villa during a few years exiled in Birmingham a long time ago, this song always sounded the nuts, especially the middle section where people slow down to really belt it out. A lot of it's familiar but it's that middle section that worked so well. There are a few lines but if 40000 Brummies could cope with it so can we.. and once you start singing it, you can't get it out of your head. So the Villa version used to go:

My old man said be a City fan
I said f*** off bastard you're a c**t
We hate the blues and we're gonna show it
We hate the blues and you're gonna know it
With Spinksy and Birchy
Alan McInally
They're the boys who're gonna do us fine
And if you don't like Villa you're a blue nosed bastard
and you ain't no friend of mine

So for us:

A greedy man said play in Gillingham
We said f*ck off Archer you're a c**t
We hate Bellotti and we let him know it
Pissed off the Liberals, wouldn't let them blow it
With Dick Knight and Tony
Bloom - the one and only
They're the boys who turned the club around
Cos we all stood together
And we beat those bastards
Now we've got a brand new ground

We went there in 83
We'll be there again you'll see
Que sera sera

(Repeat) :albion2:

In my own strange world
Years ago in the North stand of the Goldstone we used to do that chant of
SEA clap-clap-clap-clap-clap GULLS,clap-clap-clap-clap-clap
SEA clap-clap-clap-clap-clap GULLS,
It used to sound great,we could dig it up again and use that - Anyone else remember it? It was mid 70`s Peter Ward years.

Or Labi Siffre - Something Inside So Strong, this could be good :D

We know that our sides so strong,
we know that we can make it,
Gus wont do no wrong, no wrong,
We're going up from here on,
Because are sides so strong,
Because of Gus its so strong.

Or how about I wont back down by Johnny cash?
Gunna stand our ground, so we wont go down
The Amex really is no ghost town
We will stand our ground, and we wont go down.

I remember this but I was only born in '78 so I'm sure we must have had it during the 80's too.

Yeah, or we could just er, sing the Brighton words to it that have been around for about 25 years.

My old man said be a Palace fan...

You'll know the rest if you aren't a JCL...
