Meopham, Kent.
I just don't understand this decision at all.

Apart from anything else why let Wilkins decide on all the retained / leased players and then immediately move him to one side for Adams to walk in and say "Loft? How the f*** are you still here? Now, where's Gary Hart ..... anyone?"

Giving the manager a 3-year contract says that Micky is the man to lead us out at Falmer. This club have to raise so much money to make that happen they have to have total confidence in the manager. We have to assume that the board didn't have that level of confidence in Wilkins.

Who, Micky?

If you mean Dean I'm sure his wages for the remainder of the contract are small by comparison with the losses we've had to sustain and the monies required to pay for Falmer.

But nonetheless, it's still a salary to be paid.

Besides which, despite the nature of the situation, Dean IS still wanted by the club. And at present, I'm tempted to believe Dean will stay, and I DEFINITELY want him to.

Wilkins AND Adams is quite a prospect in terms of a management team.

You have to wonder whether Wilkins IS really wanted by the club. By club you have to mean board.

After the clearout earlier this week we are left with Wilkins team, his chosen men. If Adams then brings in, say, 8 or 9 new players and Wilkins stays you'd have a situation where its Adams men vs Wilkins men in competition for places. It COULD work, but I'd say the chances are against it.

TCB, as has been said before, Adams will have to work with 2 former managers regardless of whether Wilkins stays or goes.

You wonder where this might leave Hinshelwood, Chapman or Dean White.

Reading about Skint stopping our sponsorship I saw in one 'red top' that Norman Cooke aka Fatboy Slim, who is the largest shareholder in BHA .........etc.

I didn't think that he was so perhaps he had some input into this and also the move of Kevin Keehan to Lewes, may have been connected to this move.

If he isn't wanted by the club, why not SACK him?

Adams might bring in 8 or 9 men, but then, Wilkins probably would have wanted to as well - assuming either would be allowed to get that many in. Whether those players have been identified yet - who knows? And if they have, there may be some correlation. And those 8 or 9 would be then be in competition with who is already here anyway.

I think it's time for a shake-up in that backroom team. Chapman is the only one I'd keep to be honest. Having made such a drastic decision as this, I'd at least let Micky start with his own staff behind him.

Changing the ENTIRE management team, just 20 months after it had settled in would be considered FAR too drastic, I think.

And it's not as though Micky doesn't know that lot.

I don't know why they haven't sacked Wilkins. However, it isn't the first, or even second, time Knight has offered an ex-manager another job at the club.

The thing is that if Wilkins HAD stayed and brought in 8 or 9 new faces those players at the club who've survived the cull would probably have bought into it because of the success of Wilkins recent signings like Murray and Whing.

I can't see Wilkins working out as coach. What if Adams drops, say, Lynch in favour of a Cullip or Virgo? Wilkins men will almost certainly have to give way to Adams men, and that will be difficult to make work for all concerned.
